We've been eating at Suishin for years and no other sushi we've had can compare. The quality is consistent and delicious. We think it's the best.

If you're looking authentic Japanese food at an affordable price, this is the place to go. I have been on a never ending search since I've moved to Minneapolis to find decent authentic Japanese food that isn't fusion. They make tempura correctly, their sushi(nigiri) has wasabi under the fish(like it's supposed to), they marinate their ikura and there are more authentic dishes than the pizzazed rolls you often encounter. I have learned from interacting with a sushi chef the staff are trained to make sushi in a traditional Japanese style learned from Japanese chefs. Which explains why they know to do these things. Not only is the food extremely well made, the staff here are incredibly attentive and personable. Before giving a place a bad review for doing something traditional to the cuisine they are advertising to make, please educate yourself in the cuisine. There's even a term for it in Japan if you do not like wasabi on your nigiri called, "Wasabinuki".

3 STARS = IT'S OKAY. The employees were great and nice. Service was excellent. We got our food quite quickly! The entire place was clean and tidy. The sushi was alright. It wasn't the best quality as a piece of our sushi fell off the Nori in our Spicy Tuna Roll. The Spicey Salmon Roll was not spicy but it was okay. The Philidalphia roll was okay; rice was soft and it did have a creamy texture to it which made it quite good. The Ramen, it was alright; the broth wasnt thick but it didn't exceed the quality of other Ramen places around the cities (See my ramen suggestions list). The Udon dish was probably the most delicious meal. Overall, this place DEFINITELY gives you 100% service. The overall food was alright. Would I come here again? Maybe since its the closest Japanese restaurant around in the White Bear Lake/North Oaks/Shoreview area. I would definitely suggest coming here for lunch. This is a VERY high '3' out of 5 for me.
